OUR FIRM

OUR PHILOSPOHY

Helix Design inc. is a modern architecture firm made up of 16 individuals based out of Greensboro, North Carolina. As architects and designers, our core values include integrity, design excellence, sustainability and team oriented. We provide a full spectrum of services to our clients, both interior and exteriors. Our firm focuses on analyzing our clients to fully understand the needs of the users of the space.

VISION

With Emphasis on the future, our firm specializes in the incorporation of renewable energy sources, ergonomic design, and provoking aesthetics that entice the public in our works. Our drive is for designs that are timeless in their appeal for the long-term benefits of our clients and the built environment. The function of a building should not be limited to that. Interaction with architecture brings a new perspective that entices imagination, making a building more than just a workplace, but also a piece of working art.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

As an outcropping of our strong belief of environmental responsibility, all of our principals are LEED AP’s and we strongly encourage all members of our firm to become accredited.  Over half of our employees are members of AIA (American Institute of Architects).  As an annual requirement, members are required to take continuing education courses in sustainability to stay up to date with the latest “green” materials, techniques and styles. We encourage levels of sustainable design while meeting the budget and design needs of each client.

PROCESS

Helix Design Inc. concentrates on providing a clear understanding of our work to the community. Through a series of computer-aided software, animation, 3D modeling and both computer rendered and hand rendering techniques we help our clients visualize our proposed designs bringing them to life.

CURRENT PROJECT

At Helix Design Inc. we are currently working towards a LEED certified skyscraper that will be located on Langholmen Island, in Stockholm Sweden. Helix design Inc. has redefined the skyscraper, becoming the epitome of Stockholm’s heartbeat; it will preserve the values that have been upheld through time. The design will express energy, motion, reawakening, and restarting, becoming a vanishing point marking the Stockholm of the future. It reinvigorates the Stockholm of the past making for a better tomorrow. This iconic low impact building will be a beacon of light to the public drawing massive crowds to interact with the graceful flowing interiors. The building will foster the community through restaurants, shops, and even nightlife that will make this progressive structure memorable to all that enter. Utilizing local resources and keeping true to energy conservation, solar energy will supplement the buildings carbon footprint. The form of the building will direct wind through turbines producing an energy supply for the building. It will also feature rainwater harvesting, and a system to maximize daylight; as well as allowing energy efficient HVAC systems and smart use of space will keep this building up to date glowing well into the future.
